Caregiver Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What do I need to start work as a caregiver?

If you are interested in registering with TenderCare Services as a Companion you will need the following documentation; two reference checks, a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, social security number and a statement of good health completed by a physician within the last 6 months. All applicants will also be subject to level two background screening.  Once this documentation is in order, you will then be eligible to come into the office for interview.

What do I need to start work as a CNA, HHA, LPN or RN?

Along with the above listed documents required as a companion caregiver, licensed professionals will also need copies of their Florida state issued license (this will be verified by TenderCare Services).  Where appropriate; current signed copies of the Home Health Aide Training Certificate, CPR Card, HIV/AIDS certificate and professional liability insurance will also be required.

What are the average hours available?

Average number of hours depends very much on your availability and willingness to work and to be flexible (within reason).  When we receive a new case, the client dictates the hours of care they would like and it is up to us to find a suitable caregiver who is available to work these hours.  This can range from a few hours each week to 24/7 care.  Although we have a steady flow of new cases, unfortunately we can’t predict when these will come in or what care/frequency our new clients will require.  As such we cannot predict the average amount of hours available, although our good caregivers are usually more than satisfied with the amount of work we refer to them.

What is the rate of pay?

Rates of pay vary depending on qualifications, experience and what each case may involve.  At TenderCare Services we pride ourselves on offering a very high standard of service and realize that we must pay above the average to attract the best possible caregivers.  Pay rates are discussed in more detail during interview.
